Brand new for 2020, the Reverend Jetstream RB is here presented in Deep Sea Blue with a Roasted Maple neck and pearloid pickguard. This new Jetstream model has been fitted with two of Reverend’s completely redesigned Retroblast mini-humbucker pickups, complemented by a top quality Wilkinson tremolo system.

There are many praiseworthy features on the Reverend Jetstream RB, but the one we’re most excited about has to be the new Retroblast pickups (though we’ll get to the rest!). Comprehensively designed to mitigate against the worst features of mini-humbuckers, these pickups nevertheless maintain the characteristics which have endeared their ilk to guitarists over the years. Retroblast pickups are neither under-powered or harsh – but have the midrange punch, chimey highs, and string-to-string definition for which mini-humbuckers are revered. Whether you’re looking for retro rock tones or that classic crunch, these are the pickups for you!

This being a Reverend, that’s only the start! Reverend’s bass contour control has also been added, transforming the sound with the roll of a knob. Rolled right back it re-voices the pickups giving you some classic and vintage twang – it can make a humbucker sound like a single coil. With the Jetstream RB you get a trem equipped guitar with bags of character and tonal possibilities.

The super cool contoured offset body of the Reverend Jetstream RB is made from solid Korina. This wood offers many of the same properties as Mahogany but with more consistency and lighter weight. Solid Korina resonates well and makes for a real lively and responsive instrument. The Reverend Jetstream RB also features a Roasted Maple neck, a feature pioneered by Reverend at this price point. The medium oval profile is very comfortable. It features a twelve inch radius fretboard and medium jumbo frets. Roasted Maple is normally used on custom shop and high-end boutique built guitars. This is the smoothest, silkiest neck you will ever feel. Trust us! The Roasted Maple that Reverend have used has been kiln dried to remove most of the moisture. This results in a neck resistant to temperature and humidity. The advantages also include stability and increased resonance.

The bridge on the Reverend Jetstream RB is a Wilkinson WVS50 IIK tremolo. This trem offers superb tuning stability especially when combined with the Reverend locking tuners and boneite nut. You can really go for it with the trem and know that your next chord will still be in tune! The excellent Wilkinson trem features another new Joe Naylor invention, the Vari-Claw. The Vari-Claw allows you to easily switch between 3 springs in the middle hooks of the claw for a firm feel, or 2 springs on the outside recessed hooks of the claw for a soft feel, with little or no adjustment to the claw itself.

Upgraded hardware

The Jetstream RB benefits from all the upgrades Reverend has rolled out across its range over the past few years. These changes include a new Boneite nut, which reduces friction and has a resonant response similar to that of bone. Other upgrades include: a new 3 abreast string tree; Etched Reverend logo on the 6 bolt neck plate; new improved dual contact jack socket with etched jack plate; upgraded pots and capacitors; and new lower profile controls. The result is an instrument which is highly reliable, and performs perceptibly better than many competitors in the same price bracket.
